Why CLAMPON Pinch Valves?

CLAMPON valve sizes are available from 50mm to 350mm. Larger sizes are available on request.
Pinch valves all over the world operate on the same principal and are manufactured with heavy material, therefore making them cumbersome to handle.
CLAMPON Slurry Pinch Valves are Built with Cost-Saving in Mind
CLAMPON pinch valves differ from the norm in the sense that they are built from lightweight materials, however, the design takes care of the body strength, and the same principal applies for the wear sleeve.
Lighter built valves require less installation effort in difficult applications, less bracketing on piping, and less transport costs.
Wear Sleeves
Wear Sleeves are the most crucial component in pinch valves. For that reason, special attention was paid to the construction materials and the application method of these materials, ensuring a quality product.
Our sleeves are hand-built with a wide range of natural and synthetic polymers up to a CWP (Constant Working Pressure) of 2500kPa. Due to the materials of construction, the operating torque is less and the cost of actuating the valves is therefore drastically reduced.
CLAMPON Slurry Pinch Valves are installed in every mining application in South Africa, and are constantly outperforming its competitors – even on Chrome Slurry.

Diaphragm Valve
A diaphragm valve consists of a cast iron two-piece body, the top half housing the closing mechanism and diaphragm, and the bottom half being rubber-lined for wear resistance.
The negative aspect of this design is the fact that the body has a restriction or bulge in the flow line to accommodate the closing mechanism which aggravates wear. Due to the complexity and weight of this type of valve, it is difficult and expensive to maintain.

A pinch valve consists of a metal frame to accommodate the shut off mechanism and a rubber wear sleeve.
The rubber sleeve is hand-built with various types of rubber compound depending on the application. The rubber wear sleeve can be described as a short full bore hose. Full bore meaning that no restriction exists and therefore there is much less wear. Wear can be controlled by varying the shore hardness of the rubber compound, however natural gum compounds are best suited for this purpose. The only drawback with the pinch valve is that should the rubber sleeve wear through, the product or slurry will contaminate the immediate area. For this reason we also manufacture a Totally Enclosed Pinch Valve.

The valve body material is mild steel; however it is also available in any grade stainless steel.
The face-to-face dimensions of CLAMPON valves are the same as diaphragm valves, and they are suitable with all types of actuators.
